Internships

Today college students must prepare for their careers before they graduate. Internships help them identify career options.

Courage offers a range of unpaid internship experiences for undergraduate and graduate students. The intern works with staff to design a program that meets his/her individual needs and time commitment.

"My internship at Courage has been more than I expected. I finally am using what I learned in my classes. I have discovered many more career possibilities than I knew were available. I've learned much more about disabilities than I could have ever learned in school. I have become more confident with myself and in working with others. I have also met many amazing people. My experience will definitely benefit me in the future."

Cindy Sonntag is a senior at Gustavus Adolphus majoring in health Fitness. She is doing a 12-week, 30 hours-per-week internship this summer at Golden.

Internships are offered in a variety of fields, including:
  • Occupational therapy
  • Physical therapy
  • Speech/language pathology
  • Psychology
  • Therapeutic recreation
  • Human resources
  • Public relations
  • Marketing
  • Social work
